Dear Candidates,
An English Proficiency Examination will be administered on 19–20 January 2026 for candidates who have applied to our university for graduate education. The examination will be taken by Turkish and international master’s applicants and international doctoral applicants who do not hold a valid language proficiency certificate or exemption.

Details of the English Proficiency Examination are as follows:

For candidates residing in Türkiye, the English Proficiency Examination will be conducted face-to-face at the Foreign Languages Building, Main Campus.

Speaking Exam Date / Time: 19 January 2026 / 14:30 – 17:00 (A 7-minute time slot will be announced for each candidate.)

International Candidates
For international candidates, the English Proficiency Examination will be conducted online.

Exam Administration Steps:
Step 1:
Since the exam will be conducted via Zoom, candidates must join the Zoom session from their mobile phones. Candidates must join the Zoom session at least 30 minutes before the written exam on 19 January 2026, and at least 15 minutes before their time slot for the speaking exam on 20 January 2026. They should wait in the waiting room to be accepted by the invigilator.
Step 2:
The invigilator will take attendance and provide information about the exam rules. Candidates must have their passports ready to show before the exam.
Step 3:
At least 3 minutes before the exam begins, candidates must launch Safe Exam Browser and log in to https://enstituonline.cankaya.edu.tr/

Step 4:
Candidates answer the exam questions and submit their responses when the allocated time ends.
Step 5:
Safe Exam Browser is closed and candidates exit the Zoom session upon the proctor’s instruction. Cameras must remain on throughout the exam.
Online Written Exam Structure:
The online written exam consists of two sections.
Listening Section:
Two listening texts (“Lecture” and “Conversation”) will be played once only. Candidates cannot navigate between pages. Answers must be submitted before the allocated time.
Lecture Listening:
Students must have a pencil and blank paper for note-taking.
In this part, candidates will listen to the track once and take notes. The first 5 minutes of the track is blank. In that 5 minute, you need to write the outline on the screen down your blank paper. Questions will appear only after the listening and note-taking ends.
Students who navigate to the question page before listening and note-taking cannot return to the listening page.
Conversation Listening:
Questions must be answered during the listening.
Reading, Use of Language, and Writing Sections: Candidates may navigate freely between pages.
